Ordering number plates
You can buy ordinary number plates from a number plate operator (nummerpladeoperatør) or at one of our vehicle registration offices.
You can buy temporary stickers at the motor registry offices or from certain customs offices.

- The most recent vehicle registration certificate
- Photo ID such as driving licence or passport
- Information on an insurance company which is online in the Register of motor vehicles (this does not apply to trailers) or an insurance certificate
- Power of attorney if you represent a third party
If you need number plates for vehicles to which a reduced tax applies, taxis, busses or vehicles for disabled people, for example, you need to submit various information to the Danish Motor Vehicle Agency (Motorstyrelsen) in advance.
