You can use the app Ejerskifte (change of ownership) to register the new owner of privately owned vehicles such as cars, motorcycles, mopeds, trailers and caravans. The app is only available in a Danish version.
Du kan kun bruge appen til at skifte ejer fra en privatperson til en anden privatperson.
You can only use the app to change ownership from one private individual to another.
You cannot use the app to change the owner of vehicles registered as vans in the Register of Motor Vehicles, even if they are registered for private goods transport.
The seller and the buyer must both download the app and log in using MitID. They can then register the change of ownership so that the new owner of the vehicle is registered in the Register of Motor Vehicles. A fee of DKK 340 is charged for the re-registration of a vehicle.
You can complete the registration change in the app even if you do not have your registration certificate.
It only takes a few minutes to re-register a vehicle.
- The seller and the buyer must both download the Ejerskifte app from Google Play or App Store.
- The seller logs in using MitID, selects the vehicle and generates a code for the buyer.
- The buyer logs in using MitID, enters the code from the seller, selects insurance and pays a fee of DKK 340 for the change of ownership.
This completes the change of ownership, and both the buyer and the seller will receive a receipt in the app.
Please note that in the app you cannot designate anyone other than yourself as the primary user of the vehicle. Nor is it possible to add secondary users or secondary owners. This information must be changed or added in the Register of Motor Vehicles, for which a fee of DKK 340 is charged.
The purpose of the Ejerskifte app is to provide you with the best possible user experience and service. To achieve this, we use a minimum number of cookies and log a minimum of data. The logged data is used to generate statistics, personalise the solution and further develop our service.
The Ejerskifte app works on:
- Android phones with Android version 8 and later
- iPhones with iOS 15 and later.
If your operating system is older than those stated, you can update it and then download the app. However, if you have an older mobile phone, you may not be able to update the operating system.
