About the form
This form is used by:
- foreign nationals temporarily residing in Denmark who wish to settle vehicle registration tax by paying quarterly tax
- citizens wishing to be exempted from paying vehicle registration tax on vehicles imported from the Faroe Islands or Greenland.
What you need to submit the application:
- MitID
- Documentation (depends on the purpose of your stay in Denmark). This may include: your employment contract, study contract, residence permit, work permit, customs inspection report, copy of your foreign vehicle registration certificate, certificate of residence, documentation of VAT and customs payments or permission to import a vehicle as part of your household goods, and any other relevant documentation
On application, permission may be granted for payment of vehicle registration tax by instalments (quarterly) or for exemption from tax for vehicles that are subject to registration and are imported from the Faroe Islands or Greenland.
The vehicle will be valued by the Danish Motor Vehicle Agency (Motorstyrelsen) for calculation of the vehicle registration tax amount.
