Import of vehicle with original foreign number plates
Form no.
21.118 EN
About the form
The form is used to apply for permission to drive a foreign-registered vehicle in Denmark in connection with import. A permit is issued which is valid for 30 days from the date you have specified as the date of import. If you are granted a permit, the vehicle must be registered no later than 30 days after the specified date of import.
You must ensure that the vehicle is covered by liability insurance during those 30 days.
Once you have filled in the form, a receipt will be issued.
You must print the receipt and keep it in the car.
Please make sure NOT to close your browser until you have checked that you have received the receipt by email.
If you do not receive the email, you can print the summary image instead.
Note! You must take proper care when filling in the form. You can only apply for one permit per vehicle, and it is not possible to make changes to an issued permit. It is therefore important that you fill in the form correctly and do not apply until you are sure of the date you will be importing the vehicle into Denmark.
The vehicle must be registered within 30 days of the date of import. If you import the vehicle on a later date than the one you have stated in the application, the vehicle must be registered no later than 30 days after the date stated in the application. The 30-day period cannot be extended.
It can take up to 5 weeks for a valuation of the vehicle to be carried out. If you fail to register the vehicle within 30 days, you are no longer allowed to drive the vehicle with foreign number plates in Denmark.
You do not need to fill in the form if:
- You enter Denmark in a vehicle with foreign short-term number plates/temporary stickers.
- The vehicle does not have number plates.
- You are not resident in Denmark.
